Greg Mickelson has extensive general and operational management experience at executive levels in manufacturing organizations ranging in size from small privately held to international Fortune 50. He is recognized as a proven executive with a demonstrated track record of growing sales and profits, implementing winning strategies, bringing value to shareholders and building effective business teams.Greg has led major turnaround efforts at several companies, developed and implemented strategic business plans responsible for significant growth at both the divisional and corporate (multi-business) level, led M&A activities including the purchase of a $90 million company and the sale of a $180 million company and produced significant operational improvement in areas including safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction and working capital turnover.
In his most recent role Greg was President of Spectrus Inc., a $55 million manufacturer of proprietary and custom products serving the lighting industry.In this position Greg was responsible for the turnaround and subsequent divestiture of the company.Prior to Spectrus Greg was President/COO and a shareholder of VPI, LLC, a privately held manufacturing company.While at VPI Greg helped grow the company from 3 divisions and $50 million in sales to 6 divisions and over $180 million in sales.He drove clear turnarounds in several struggling divisions, led a cultural shift from one of entitlement to one of high performance and ultimately ran the highly successful divestiture of all 6 businesses in 4 separate transactions providing significant liquidity to the shareholders. Previously, Greg held various management positions at both GE and Procter & Gamble where he produced outstanding results in many different areas including product development, technology, engineering, manufacturing and business management.
Greg has been active in his communities, including service as Board President for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County in Wisconsin.He has also served as an active Member of the Economic Club of Sheboygan and as a Junior Achievement Educator.Greg was awarded his MBA by the Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his BS in Chemical Engineering by the University of Connecticut’s School of Engineering.
